Band
West Salem Wind Ensemble
I have 8 years of experience playing the Alto Saxophone, including my time as first chair in the West Salem High School Wind Ensemble. My versatility extends to playing the Baritone, Tenor, and Soprano Saxophone. Over the years, I qualified for prestigious honor bands, including OMEA All-State and OSAA All-City from 2020 to 2023. These highly ranked ensembles provided opportunities to collaborate with world-renowned guest conductors and refine my musicianship in professional, high-level settings. I continue to draw on this experience as I pursue new musical opportunities alongside my academic studies in college.
Family in Band
Band has given me a sense of comfort and bellonging in the environment that surrounds us. I have met most if not all of my friends through band, and continue to make more through major events and championships I attend. Band was a family I never thought I would be apart of, but am grateful I had the opportunity to embrace.
2023 OSAA State Band Championship
We placed 1st at the 2023 OSAA State Band Championships with an overall lead of 15 points ahead of second place. After a year of dedicated preparation, this victory was a testament to the belief that hard work truly pays off.
State Chamber Ensemble
My colleagues and I won 2nd place at the State Chamber Ensemble with an arangement my friend put together called Danzon No. 2. It is widely known as a syphony piece, but was arranged into a saxophone quintet.
